Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people can reach out to Quitline (13 78 48) anytime to join the Yarn to Quit Program. Just answer a few questions, and Quitline will call back to start the 12-week support program. You can sign up for this program once a year.

Quitline offers access to counsellors and provides a 12-week supply of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) patches, gums, and lozenges. NRT is an effective and safe method to support someone to quit smoking or vaping, it increases the success rate of smokers quitting smoking by helping the individual manage withdrawals and urges by providing them with clean nicotine.

Quitline also offers counsellors from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds available for the community to talk to.

Smoking and Pregnancy

Quitline offers a specialized, cost-free support program designed for women and their partners. This assistance is available if they are currently pregnant, planning to conceive within the next six months, post-pregnancy, or are partners of pregnant women. Expectant mothers (or those planning pregnancy) can have discussions with midwives or doctors. Individuals can contact Quitline directly or request a call for additional information.
