Healthy Lifestyle Program

The Deadly Choices Healthy Lifestyle program seeks to equip high school students and community members with knowledge and understanding of what it means to be a healthy, proud and positive Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person.

Building on the introductory frameworks of the junior program, subject areas focus on the complexities of living through teenage years into early adulthood.

To encourage participant involvement and support them on their journey, facilitators encourage two-way and peer-to-peer collaboration, as a successful way of learning how to make Deadly Choices every day.

Through the Deadly Choices Healthy Lifestyle Program we establish a stronger sense of self among participants, while growing understanding of the positive effects of building and maintaining healthy relationships with others.

Exclusive to the program is education and support surrounding interpersonal relationships (including sexual health) which are usually first encountered during this important life phase.
